Troodl is built on a simple principle: great music, no strings attached. We collect as little data as possible, we never sell it, and we never use it to serve you ads. This policy explains what we do collect and why.

What We Collect

When you use Troodl without signing in, we collect no personal information. When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address — used only for account authentication.
• Display name — shown in your personalised greeting.
• Music preferences — genres, moods, and artists you tell us you enjoy. Stored to personalise your experience.

We do not collect payment information, location data, or any behavioural tracking data.

How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate your account securely.
• To personalise your music recommendations based on your stated preferences.
• To remember your settings between sessions.

We do not analyse your listening habits, sell data to third parties, or use your data for advertising of any kind.

Third-Party Services

Troodl streams music via the YouTube Data API. When you play a track, a request is made to YouTube's servers. YouTube's own privacy policy and terms apply to that interaction. We do not control, and are not responsible for, YouTube's data practices.

We use Supabase for secure, hosted database storage of your account preferences. Supabase is GDPR-compliant and does not use your data for any purpose beyond storage.

Cookies

We use only a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookie services.

Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. We will action all deletion requests within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Troodl after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
